discipling parents to disciple their children
The Bible clearly teaches that the family is the primary forum for discipleship of youth, and parents have specifically been tasked by the Lord to disciple their children (Deuteronomy 6, Ephesians 6:1-4, Psalm 78:1-8).
Many parents were not discipled by their parents, and so they in turn do not know how to disciple their own kids. We understand, and seek to be faithful to the Word of God and commit to discipling fathers and mothers on how to biblically disciple their own children in the Lord.
Family discipleship was the norm in the first 1900+ years of the church, as well as the entire Old Testament. A departure from this standard (as well as several other cultural factors) over the last century has led to an alarming drop-off in the number of young adults professing Christ. We seek to return to the biblical standard, as this was the Lord's primary (and thus most effective) method for discipling children from the beginning.
